Best Friends

Taegen and Kyler had their 3 year well check visit last week. They are both doing great and are healthy as horses :). Here are their stats:

Taegen:

weight 33 lbs - 65.03%

height 37 3/4 " - 59.47%

Kyler:

weight 28 lbs - 13 %

height 34 1/2 " - 2.24%

They are both fairly proportionate - not to each other but within themselves!

They are the best of friends.

The other day a little boy hit Kyler so Taegen pushed the little boy down. Then he proceeded to ask Kyler "You OK?". So cute! They really do take care and look out for each other. In the morning Taegen always asks "Mom, do I get to ride the bus?" I tell him "no, Kyler gets too." Instead of getting mad Taegen runs over to Kyler and says "Kyler want to ride the bus?" Taegen gets so excited for Kyler. Kyler is the strong one in the swimming pool and so he helps Taegen not be scared during their lessons. They really are PERFECT for each other. They really complement each other - ones weaknesses are the others strengths and vice versa. They are lucky to have each other and I am lucky to have them! (Precious)

Swim Lessons...

T man and Ky-guy had their first (of many) swim lessons today. How did it go? To answer in one word - Horrid! I should have known I was in for a long one when they wouldn't even go and sit with all the other kids to see who their teacher was without crying. This was only the beginning. The lesson was 45 minutes. Taegen ran to me crying at least 3 times yelling "I'm done" "Scared" "Mama". Kyler just sat on the edge and when the teacher told him to come to her he shook his head and stomped his foot and said "NO". over and over. Kyler only came running to me ONCE but he tried numerous other times - he was slower and less persistent than Taegen - so he did not get away. So...what's next, you ask. Swim lessons tomorrow and the next day and the next day and then again next week at 3:15 - 4. Wish me luck! (If you don't believe me about the swim lessons catastrophe...just look at Taegen's picture below - it speaks a million words...)

Time to Vote!

My wonderfully talented friend, Melanie, took some pictures for us (again). You see, Taegen and Kyler needed their 3 year pics taken and we haven't had a new family picture since Strider has joined the ranks. Anyways, she did a GREAT job and now we are trying to decide which ones are our favorites. So, help us decide... Cute lil' Kyler - Which one is your favorite?

Taegen's Tiger Cake!!!

We tried to light the candles for a LONG time but the wind kept blowing them out. So finally we just sang - no candles, no wishes - better luck next year!! The boys were spoiled again but I guess that's okay because they sure are cute!

I am AMAZING!

Taegen always smiles like this so every picture we have is of Taegen looking like this.

All the neighbor kids go off jumps so Taegen wanted to try it to. Here is Taegen attempting to go off the jump. He actually aimed perfectly, made it right to the top and then rolled off backwards. It was perfect and he thinks he did it!

I am AMAZING!

I did it! I took all three boys by myself on their first "real" outing that wasn't to the grocery store or play group. We went to the zoo. Just me, Taegen, Kyler and Strider. To make matters worse, I forgot the double stroller. So I pushed Strider in his stroller and Taegen and Kyler walked. I hesitate to say this as I don't want to jinx myself in the future but it was a HUGE SUCCESS. We had a GREAT TIME! It really was so much fun. We were there for 2 1/2 hours and it was so great. First of all, Kudos to Taegen. He helped so much. As soon as we got out of the car he took Kyler's hand and led him from that point on. He helped him up stairs, down ramps, sitting at the dolphin show, everything. I tried to hold Kyler's hand and he just started crying for Taegen. So...Taegen came over and held Kyler's hand and Kyler stopped crying and went wherever Taegen led him. It was so cute to see. Strider was also excellent and he was only asleep for about 30 minutes. He was as happy as a clam.

So - I need to somehow mark this post so that every time I'm having a "hate being a mom" moment, I can read this blog and remember that one time, long ago, I did enjoy it (for at least a day). :):)

My Favorite Things!!!

Taegen's smile! Whenever you tell Taegen to smile this is what he does. I had to speak in sacrament meeting today and the whole time I was sitting on the stand Taegen was "smiling" at me with his grin. It made me smile. This is Taegen and Kyler with their ears to listen that they made in nursery today. They wore them during Family Home Evening so they could hear the lesson.
